[Graduate School of Science and Technology] SUDO Masaki receives the Best Poster Award at the Spring Lecture Meeting of the Japan Society of Spring Engineers in FY2024

Jun. 24, 2024

SUDO Masaki (Research Group for Strength and Function of Engineering Materials, supervised by Professor NOTOMI Mitsuo), a first-year master’s student in the Mechanical Engineering Program of the Graduate School of Science and Technology, presented “Coiling Analysis of Valve Springs Using the Finite Element Method” at the Spring Lecture Meeting of the Japan Society of Spring Engineers in FY2024.

This research clarified the effects of different manufacturing methods on the internal residual stress and strain of valve springs, which are one of the mechanical elements that determine engine life. The study received high praise from numerous participants, earning him the Best Poster Award.
