The Fencing Club won the women’s épée event at the 74th All Japan Student Fencing Championships held at Komazawa Olympic Park Gymnasium (Setagaya City, Tokyo) on June 10, 2024. This was their third title win in a row in the Championships since 2022, when they won their first title.

In the Championships, the top two universities for each event from the intercollegiate leagues of the east and the west compete in team competitions. The women’s team, which had been undefeated through the season, won their second title with a 45-36 victory against Senshu University following the championship in the Intercollegiate League.

Comments from Head Coach HIROSE
The team won the Kanto Intercollegiate League, where other universities were eager to beat us, and went into the All Japan Student Fencing Championships with the determination to win the championship. In the three-person all-play-all team competition, the team members, led by INAYAMA Yuri, the team’s ace and a fourth-year student, encouraged each other throughout their ups and downs, and with the success of KISHIMOTO Rin, a first-year student, the team were able to win the competition outright. All Club members will work hard from now on to achieve the goal of winning five championships to win all five tournaments.
