From April 25 to 27, Meiji University students took part in “JAZZ AUDITORIA 2025 in WATERRAS,” held at the WATERRAS complex in Kanda Awajicho, Chiyoda-ku. This admission-free jazz event – now in its 13th year – is planned and produced by Blue Note Japan Inc. Supported by the university’s Organization for Community Relations and Support, the event features student participation each year in a variety of roles.
Meiji University’s official club, the Big Sounds Society Orch., took the event stage on April 26, the second day of the event. As the only student group among the performers, their fresh and vibrant performance brought excitement to the venue.
Related events were held at WATERRAS Square on April 26 and 27. Among them, Meidai Machizukuri Dojo – a student group authorized by the Organization for Community Relations and Support – hosted a workshop “Crafting Maracas with Plastic Bottles,” which drew more than 200 participants of all ages over two days.
Additionally, a total of 50 students volunteered at JAZZ AUDITORIA over the course of four days, including the day before the event for preparations. They contributed to the smooth operation of the event by distributing programs and guiding visitors at the venue.
