A paper from Iwase Laboratory (headed by Professor IWASE Akihide) graced the front cover of Volume 6, Issue 7 (2025) of the international academic journal Advanced Energy and Sustainability Research published by Wiley.
In this study, Water splitting under visible light irradiation using a Z-scheme system combining nonmetal oxides of TaON and (CuGa)0.5ZnS2 is demonstrated. The key factors lie in coloading with Ir and CoOx cocatalysts on TaON and using reduced graphene oxide (RGO) as a solid-state electron mediator. This combination of Water splitting under visible light irradiation is the first achievement of its kind in the world.
