A poster presentation by HASHIZUME Shunsuke (2nd-year pre-doctoral student, KOIKE Yuya Laboratory) won the Best Student XRF Poster Presentation Award at the 2025 DENVER X-RAY CONFERENCE (organized by ICDD). In addition, for the presentation at the international conference, the Robert L. Snyder Student Attendance Award (travel expense subsidy) was obtained from ICDD, the organizer.

Research content: In this study, a solidified body produced through the geopolymer solidification method, in which municipal solid waste incineration fly ash and soil were mixed, was analyzed by using micro X-ray fluorescence analysis. The element distribution inside the solidified body was successfully analyzed, while retaining its appearance, by applying element mapping using the micro X-ray fluorescence analysis to its cross-section. It is considered that the idea was highly evaluated because useful knowledge was obtained as an evaluation technique that utilizes an X-ray analysis of solidified bodies produced through the geopolymer solidification method, in which municipal solid waste incineration fly ash and soil are mixed.
