The 16th Asian Shooting Championships, hosted by the International Shooting Federation (ISSF), were held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan from August 16 to 30. Japan’s representatives, TAICHI Hinata (2nd year, School of Commerce), NOBATA Misaki (4th year, School of Commerce), and HIRATA Shiori (ALSOK, graduated from the School of Political Science and Economics in 2022), received medals.

TAICHI paired up with HANAKAWA Naoki (Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) Physical Training School) in the 10 m rifle mixed team event on August 23 and won the bronze medal.

On the 26th, NOBATA, HIRATA and HORINOUCHI Ai (JSDF Physical Training School) won the silver medal in the 50 m rifle three-position women’s team competition, in which the ranking is determined by the total score of the three players in the final round. On the same day, NOBATA, who advanced through the preliminaries to compete in the finals, won the bronze medal in the individual event.

The shooting club, which has been making steady progress in domestic competitions, has made a strong showing on the international stage.
