SUMIYOSHI Rion (a fourth-year student in the School of Commerce) claimed the bronze medal in the women’s singles at the first event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, held on October 17–18 in France.
Sumiyoshi placed fourth in the short program with a score of 71.03 points. In the free skate, she successfully landed a quadruple toe loop and earned Level 4 on all three spins and her step sequence, scoring 145.03 points—the third-highest of the segment. Her total score was 216.06 points. With these performances, she achieved personal bests in the short program, free skate, and overall total, securing her fourth consecutive bronze medal at the Grand Prix de France.
