Title:Cross-sectional and longitudinal associations of neighbourhood socioeconomic disadvantage with frailty among mid-to-older-aged adults in Australia
This study demonstrated both cross-sectional and longitudinal associations between neighborhood-level socioeconomic disadvantage—residents of low disadvantage neighborhoods, those in middle and high disadvantage neighborhoods—and frailty, a condition intermediate between robust health and disability. The findings suggest that, in order to reduce such disparities, interventions aimed at preventing and improving frailty should be prioritized in socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhoods.
