On November 26 at the Surugadai Campus, the Handball Club paid a courtesy visit to President UENO Masao and Chairman YANAGIYA Takashi.
The Handball Club competed in the 2025 All-Japan Intercollegiate Handball Championship (“Intercollegiate Championship”), held at the Ishikawa General Sports Center (Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture) from November 2 to 6, and achieved its first-ever championship victory in the Club’s history, 87 years after its founding.
The courtesy visit was attended by six team members — Captain HOKATANEDA Keita (4th year, School of Commerce), Team Manager YAMAMOTO Nako (4th year, School of Science and Technology), TOCHIO Tasuku (3rd year, School of Law), MUKOYACHI Kaito (3rd year, School of Business Administration), AOTO Naoki (1st year, School of Commerce), and SAKAMOTO Kyosuke (1st year, School of Business Administration). They were accompanied by General Manager KOBAYASHI Fumiaki (Associate Professor, School of Law) and Head Coach KATO Yoshinori (graduated from School of Agriculture in 2011, Meiji University staff member).
After the General Manager and the Head Coach reported on the Club’s achievements, the players expressed their joy over the championship, discussed the Club's past activities, and shared their determination for the Japan Handball Championship.

The courtesy visit was held in a cordial atmosphere
Comment from Captain HOKATANEDA Keita (4th year, School of Commerce)
I started playing handball in the first grade of elementary school, but I had never experienced winning a championship for the 16 years since then. So, I am extremely happy to have become the best in Japan in my final tournament. I will do my very best in the Japan Handball Championship in December so that I have no regrets.
