[School of Agriculture] Carrots exhibited by the Vegetable Horticulture Laboratory wins the Best Color Award and the Best Fragrance Award at the 25th Manpukuji Carrot Exhibition

Manpukuji carrots grown for half a year
 
The 25th Manpukuji Carrot Exhibition (sponsored by the Satoyama Forum in Asao / the Lifelong Learning Support Division of Asao Ward ) was held on December 21, 2024 at the Asao Civic Hall in Asao Ward, Kawasaki City. The Vegetable Horticulture Laboratory of the Department of Agriculture, School of Agriculture, Meiji University (Professor MOTOKI Satoru) exhibited the Manpukuji carrots that it had grown for half a year in the extreme heat that had continued for two years. The Manpukuji carrots exhibited by the Vegetable Horticulture Laboratory (representatives: SATO Lime, a second-year master’s degree student at the Graduate School of Agriculture, and FUTAMI Mona, a fourth-year student at the School of Agriculture) were the most colorful and most fragrant carrots among the more than 25 exhibited carrots (harvests) and received the Best Color Award and Best Fragrance Award, respectively.
The Vegetable Horticulture Laboratory received multiple awards for three consecutive years, following the 23rd and 24th Manpukuji Carrot Exhibition held on December 18, 2022 and December 23, 2023, respectively. This is SATO Lime’s second award, following the Best Effort Award at the 23rd Manpukuji Carrot Exhibition, and Ms. FUTAMI Mona’s second award, following the Best Fragrance Award at the 24th Manpukuji Carrot Exhibition.
