On February 6, a delegation from the Korea Criminal and Justice Policy Research Institute (KICJ), including President Woongseok Jeong and Vice President Cheonhyun Lee, visited Meiji’s Surugadai Campus and exchanged opinions with President UENO Masao, Graduate School of Law Dean SUZUKI Ken, and School of Law Dean NAGASAKA Jun.

KICJ is a public organization that conducts research on the criminal justice system, legal policies, crime prevention, correction and rehabilitation of criminals in South Korea. It works with the Ministry of Justice to make policy recommendations and conduct research projects, etc.

The Graduate School of Law, which signed a cooperation agreement with KICJ in January 2012, has been engaged in a number of exchanges, including the exchange of opinions on criminal legislation in both countries and co-hosting of symposiums.

During this visit, there was an exchange of opinions on the further use of cooperation agreements, including personnel exchanges between researchers and students. The Graduate School of Law plans to consider the opinions expressed from both sides in terms of the system.
