Intercollegiate Figure Skating: Men’s and Women’s Team titles secured for the first time in 3 Years — SATO Shun and SUMIYOSHI Rion win consecutive individual championships

At the 98th All Japan Intercollegiate Figure Skating Championships, held at Tokyo Tatsumi Ice Arena (January 8–11, Koto-ku, Tokyo), SATO Shun (4th-year, School of Political Science and Economics) and SUMIYOSHI Rion (4th-year, School of Commerce), each achieved the remarkable feat of winning consecutive titles in the men’s and women’s singles competitions.

In the men’s team event, the team secured back-to-back victories with SATO Shun winning first place, SUTO Tsudoi (1st-year, School of Political Science and Economics) placing 5th, and KIKUCHI Ryusei (3rd-year, School of Political Science and Economics) finishing 11th. In the women’s team event, SUMIYOSHI Rion took first place, EGAWA Maria (4th-year, School of Political Science and Economics) finished 2nd, and OKUNO Yurina (1st-year, School of Commerce) placed 11th, leading the team to victory.
