The 104th All Japan Ski Championships, organized by the Ski Association of Japan, were held from March 9 to 11 at Sugadaira Kogen in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture. NOMOTO Kazuchika (3rd year, School of Political Science and Economics) claimed victory in the men’s giant slalom event in alpine skiing.

Alpine skiing is a race in which competitors ski down a snow-covered course, passing through gates while competing for speed. Final rankings are determined by the combined time of two runs.

Comment from NOMOTO Kazuchika
“I am extremely happy to have won the All Japan Championships. This season, I struggled to achieve the results I had hoped for and faced many difficult moments and doubts. However, being able to deliver a result at this most important competition made me feel that all the effort I have put in so far was not in vain.

Through my experience with the Meiji University Ski Club, I have grown not only technically but also mentally, and I believe that accumulation led to this result. I will not be satisfied with this achievement. I will continue striving to perform well at even higher-level competitions, while never forgetting my gratitude to my family and everyone who has supported me.”
