[School of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences] ARAI Ryoko receives Excellence Presentation Award at the Forum on Image-Based Arts and Science 2026

Apr. 02, 2026

ARAI Ryoko, a third-year student in the Department of Frontier Media Science, School of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences, received the Excellence Presentation Award at the Forum on Image-Based Arts and Science 2026.

In this work, we developed a viewing system in which pressing a finger into a soft deformable screen showing an illustration rewinds the drawing process for that specific area alone. While timelapse videos documenting how digital illustrations are created are widely enjoyed, they make it difficult to focus on how a particular region was drawn. This system addresses that limitation through intuitive touch interaction, offering a richer and more engaging experience for illustration exhibitions.
