Students actively engaged in group work
The Career Center, in collaboration with HIBIYA-KADAN FLORAL CO., LTD. and Landflora Co., Ltd, organized “CREATING TOGETHER 2026,” an industry-academia collaborative PBL (problem-based learning) event for first- and second-year undergraduate students, held from February 18 to March 18.
Held under the theme “Enriching the Future with Flowers and Greenery,” this event invited students to address social issues by developing and presenting proposals that maximize the appeal of selected areas along the Odakyu Line. Now in its third year, the program brought together 13 students from six faculties, who were divided into three teams to tackle a range of social challenges.
The event consisted of four stages: kick-off meeting, field survey, interim presentation, and final presentation. Each team prepared for their presentations through a combination of fieldwork in the target areas and independent initiatives, including product prototyping.
At the final presentations, each team presented the ideas they had developed and the outcomes of their discussions over a short period of time. The top award was given to the team that proposed a workshop addressing two challenges: mental health issues related to smartphone dependence in modern society and the problem of “loss flowers” generated during the distribution and sale of flowers.
