SETA Keisuke (3rd-year doctoral student) of the Laboratory of Environmental Response Organelle Biology (Professor YOSHIMOTO Kohki), Program of Life Sciences, and TSUZUKI Kei (2nd-year doctoral student) of the Laboratory of Plant Chemical Regulation (Associate Professor SETO Yoshiya), Program of Agricultural Chemistry, Graduate School of Agriculture, have been selected for the FY2026 Sasakawa Scientific Research Grant (Academic Research Division: Biological Sciences) by the Japan Science Society (JSS), a public interest incorporated foundation.
The Sasakawa Scientific Research Grant is a funding program designed to support young researchers aged 35 and under by encouraging their research through grants of up to 1.5 million yen.
In fiscal year 2026, there were 1,408 applications (including 714 in the biological sciences category), of which 279 were selected (including 139 in the biological sciences category). (Overall acceptance rate: 19.8%; Biological sciences acceptance rate: 19.3%)
On April 17, the “FY2026 Sasakawa Scientific Research Grant Presentation Meeting, Research Encouragement Ceremony, and Networking Event” was held at the ANA InterContinental Hotel Tokyo, where grant recipients were presented with official notification certificates of their awards.
