FUKUI Masahiro, a second-year master’s student (at the time of the award) in the Frontier Media Science Program, Graduate School of Advanced Mathematical Sciences, Nakamura Laboratory (Professor NAKAMURA Satoshi) received the Best Presentation Award at the Information Processing Society of Japan Collaboration and Network Services (IPSJ-CN), held on March 10, 2026, at the Miyakojima Future Creation Center. This award is presented to outstanding presentations delivered at the research meeting.
In competitive debate practice, it is important to review and discuss the types of rebuttals that were actually made. However, objectively assessing how effectively rebuttals were performed—both individually and as a team—is not easy, which can hinder thorough reflection. To address this issue, Fukui developed a system that visualizes how rebuttals were conducted immediately after a debate. By deploying this system in real training settings, he demonstrated its effectiveness. He also implemented the system as an iPhone application and released it on the App Store.
Moving forward, he plans to further enhance the application and contribute to the field of competitive debate.
