Meiji University students took part in “JAZZ AUDITORIA 2026 in WATERRAS,” held at the WATERRAS in Kanda Awajicho, Chiyoda-ku, from April 24 to 26. This admission-free jazz event, now in its 14th year, is planned and produced by Blue Note Japan Inc. Supported by the university’s Organization for Community Relations and Support, the event has featured student participation in a variety of roles each year.

Meiji University’s official club, the Big Sounds Society Orch., took the event stage on April 25, the second day of the event. As the only student group among the performers, their fresh and vibrant performance brought excitement to the venue.

Related events were also held at WATERRAS, including a workshop titled “Let’s Go Fishing with Paper Cups!” organized by Meidai Machizukuri Dojo, a student organization officially recognized by the Organization for Community Relations and Support. This workshop was held for the first time this year, attracting many children, with approximately 100 participants taking part over the two-day period.

Additionally, a total of 51 students volunteered at JAZZ AUDITORIA over the course of four days, including the day before the event for preparations. They contributed to the smooth operation of the event by distributing programs and guiding visitors.
