NAGATOMO Yuto (graduate of the School of Political Science and Economics) makes fifth consecutive FIFA World Cup appearance

NAGATOMO Yuto (2009 graduate of the School of Political Science and Economics, alumnus of the soccer club), appeared as a substitute in the second half of Japan’s group-stage match against Sweden at the FIFA World Cup 2026, held on June 26 (Japan time). With this appearance, NAGATOMO achieved participation in five consecutive World Cups, becoming the first Asian player to accomplish this feat.

Japan’s national team is set to face Brazil in the knockout stage, scheduled for June 29 (local time), June 30 in Japan time.
In addition to NAGATOMO, HAYAKAWA Tomoki (2021 graduate of the School of Business Administration, alumnus of the soccer club), has also been selected as a member of the Japan national team.
 
Japanese version
