As part of its efforts to facilitate a smooth transition from high school to university, the Institute for Research and Education in Accounting promotes bookkeeping and accounting education at the university’s affiliated high schools. Currently, it offers Nissho Bookkeeping Level 3 courses and other programs both within and outside Meiji University High School, Nakano High School, and Hachioji High School, providing students with opportunities to develop an understanding of accounting and business management from an early stage.

In addition to these initiatives, Setagaya High School, which became an affiliated school this academic year, launched a new high school-university collaboration program in which its students take a Nissho Bookkeeping Level 3 course together with Meiji University students at the Izumi Campus. This spring, more than 50 students from the high school participated in the bookkeeping course, taking advantage of the fact that both the high school and the Izumi Campus are located near Meidaimae Station on the Keio Line.

By giving high school students exposure to a university learning environment, the program is expected to facilitate a smooth transition to university study, increase their interest in specialized fields, and help them make their own informed decisions about their future paths.

In addition, the Institute’s Special Accounting Laboratory provides an environment in which students aspiring to become highly qualified professionals, such as certified public accountants, can continue pursuing specialized studies from their high school years. By systematically linking high school education, university education, and professional qualification education, the Institute will develop talent through an integrated educational approach and create diverse learning opportunities that make effective use of the educational resources of high schools and universities.
