KANEKO Hiromasa, Professor in the School of Science and Technology, received the 2025 Meiji University KODAMA Keiji
Ganbaru Research Promotion Award. The award ceremony was held on July 30 at the Surugadai Campus. The award was established through a donation from KODAMA Keiji, a 1957 graduate of the School of Business Administration. Recipients are selected based on the number of international research papers published and the number of citations received over the previous five years, and the award recognizes faculty members who have achieved outstanding research results. Professor KANEKO is conducting research on data chemical engineering, which uses AI and data analysis to streamline the development of pharmaceuticals and materials in virtual environments.
At the award ceremony, following the presentation of a certificate of commendation and the award certificate, President UENO Masao delivered congratulatory remarks, after which KODAMA took to the stage. KODAMA explained that “
ganbaru” is a coined term expressing the idea of making a wholehearted effort with a positive outlook, then praised KANEKO’s research as contributing to solving environmental problems and advancing medical care, and expressed hope that Professor KANEKO would continue pursuing the research with passion alongside students who will shape the future.
Professor KANEKO expressed his gratitude, saying, “University research is inseparable from student growth. I believe that this award recognizes not only my own work but also the contributions of the students and fellow researchers who have worked alongside me.”
