   Meiji University and the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA) hosted a lecture by Akio Toyoda, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation at Academy Hall on the Surugadai Campus on September 26. President Toyoda spoke frankly about his passion that goes into automobile manufacturing to the approximately 900 students who packed the hall.
   This lecture was held as part of an interactive teaching by top managements of Japanese automobile manufacturers in cooperation with JAMA and eight Japanese universities in the Kanto and Kansai regions. In this program, the top managements of automobile manufacturers give lectures at universities to convey the fun of having cars.
   President Toyoda ended his lecture, saying, “Each and every car is as adorable as if it were my own child. I hope you will all cooperate in bringing up cars and support the realization of a wonderful motorized society.” His lecture was welcomed by a hall full of applause.
