An exchange event was held at the International Coed Residence, Meiji University Global Village (MGV), near the Izumi Campus. The event took place on September 30th with the participation of international students who arrived in Japan this autumn.

The festivities kicked off with a tantalizing BBQ session featuring delicious meats and fresh vegetables. Amidst the alluring aroma permeating the residence, a total of 120 residents and international students queued up eagerly, waiting for the barbecued delights and relishing the flavors to their hearts' content. It was particularly striking to witness students conversing and enjoying themselves across nationalities, effortlessly transcending any cultural barriers.

Following this, a stage performance by enthusiastic residents took place. The stage came alive with a diverse array of talents, ranging from dance, singing, and guitar or piano performances to quizzes and even karate, captivating the audience and filling the air with laughter.

Some of the participating international students expressed their delight, stating, "Living in MGV is enjoyable" and "I'm happy to have made friends at MGV." Meanwhile, the residents chimed in with a resounding "It was so much fun!"

The event was planned and executed by ten students serving as Resident Assistants (RAs), who live in the residence and support their fellow residents. They had been preparing for this event since the spring semester, aiming to create an event that would bring joy to both the residents and the international students. They put in various efforts, including catering to vegans, and played pivotal roles in every aspect, from shopping to cooking on the day of the event.

Representing the RAs, Ms. Asuka Okada, a fourth-year student in the School of Commerce, mentioned, "While MGV is celebrating its fifth year since its establishment, it's the first time we've seen such a large participation of residents. Despite the challenges in organizing multiple new initiatives, witnessing the infectious smiles of the residents filled us, the RAs, with genuine happiness. Through this event, we hope that the international students can look forward to their future residence life in Japan a little more."
