Nov. 13, 2023

The research presentation by SEKINO Rina (KOIKE Yuya laboratory), a first-year Ph.D student in the Applied Chemistry Program at the Graduate School of Science and Technology, won the Excellent Poster Award at the 34th Annual Conference of Japan Society of Materials Cycles and Waste Management organized by the Japan Society of Material Cycles and Waste Management.
SEKINO conducted research in which she produced a geopolymer-solidified substance by mixing municipal solid waste incineration fly ash with Akadama soil and provided it for various elution tests conducted around the world and verified the effect of the substance to inhibit the elution of heavy metal contained in municipal solid waste incineration fly ash. Her efforts have been highly recognized.
