A paper by Professor IWAHORI Yutaka, et al. received the Science and Technology Promotion Award from the
High Pressure Institute of Japan.
This paper experimentally explained changes in the fatigue strength of CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) against the temperature environment after it is immersed in artificial sea water. The award was given in recognition of its significant contribution to the design of strength and durability of CFRP composites when immersed in sea water.
The results of this study are expected not only to provide important findings in the design of CFRP composites but also to be utilized as necessary knowledge for widespread use of CFRP composites and tanks immersed in sea water.
Title of the paper awarded:
A Study on Fatigue Strength of CFRP Laminate Composite in Air/ Artificial Sea Water, JHPI Vol.60 No.3 pp125-131, 2022
