Dec. 26, 2023

The International Business Studies Intercollege Competition, commonly known as “IB Intercollege,” is a national competition for research reports where seminars from 16 universities across Japan present their research results in the form of academic papers and compete team-to-team to win the title. This year the event was held at Tohoku University on Saturday, December 2, with a total of 29 teams from 19 seminars at 16 universities nationwide participating. Two teams from the School of Business Administration’s Furukawa Seminar entered, wrote papers in English in preparation for the competition, and on the day of the competition they gave presentations and held discussions in English.

The competition is judged on the basis of papers and presentations in the qualifying blocks, with the eight teams who win the qualifying blocks advancing to the final. Both Furukawa Seminar teams reached the finals, placing 2nd (Power group) and 4th (YMCA group) in the country.
