On October 25, 2024, Professor KIKUCHI Hiroaki (Department of Frontier Media Science, School of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences) and Dr. Andres Hernandez-Matamoros received the CSEC Excellent Research Award from the Computer Security Group of the Information Processing Society of Japan held at the Kobe Convention Center.
This award is given to papers submitted to CSEC at its regular CSEC research presentation meetings. The award is given to outstanding papers with a high degree of completion, or to embryonic research presentations that are promising for future development or that open up new fields.
“Differential Private risk factors analysis of polypharmacy” presented by Professor KIKUCHI Hiroaki and Dr. Andres Hernandez-Matamoros proposed a privacy protection technique to detect polypharmacy where too many drugs are prescribed for diseases. From the data of 390,000 patients, the novelty of the technique of safely calculating the risk of various factors is evaluated.
