[School of Political Science and Economics] TAKAMINE Osamu Seminar Wins Excellence Award at Sport Policy for Japan 2024

At the Sport Policy for Japan 2024 (hereinafter, “SPJ”) held at the Surugadai Campus of Meiji University on October 19 (Sat.) and 20 (Sun.), 2024, TAKAMINE Osamu seminar members (SAKAI Yuzu, TAKAHASHI Kana, PARK Chaeyeon ) from the School of Political Science and Economics won the Excellence Award for “Why university women’s sports have not developed: Three proposals for promotion.”
At the SPJ, university students present their research findings and proposals on Japanese sports policy and measures to promote the sports industry, and these are evaluated and awarded by researchers and experts in the fields of sports science, sports management and sports policies. This year, a record number of 76 teams from 31 universities participated and presented their research findings. From Meiji University, one team from Professor TAKAMINE Osamu’s seminar and two teams from Professor GOTO Mitsumasa’s seminar in the School of Political Science and Economics, and seven teams from Associate Professor SAWAI Kazuhiko’s seminar in the School of Commerce participated.
TAKAMINE Osamu seminar members studied “why university women’s sports have not developed,” and based on their research findings, they made recommendations especially for women’s athletic associations. Referring to the actual opinions of students, they aim to improve the value of university women’s sports from various perspectives, from student groups to companies and governmental agencies. In the venue filled with tension, they made a dignified presentation for the development of women’s university sports.
