KUSABA Ayano and SUZUKI Ryushin, first-year pre-doctoral students in the Electrical Engineering Program at the Graduate School of Science and Technology (Power System Laboratory, academic supervisor: Associate Professor KAWASAKI Shoji), received the YPC Encouragement Award at the 2024 Annual Conference on Power and Energy of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (September 4 to 6, Osaka Metropolitan University).

Presentation title: A study on detection of voltage flicker occurrence caused by new active islanding detection systems of PCSs and a suppression method using automatic frequency feedback gain adjustment
Authors: KUSABA Ayano, HOSHI Maiki, KAWASAKI Shoji

KUSABA Ayano proposed a method to suppress voltage flickers by automatically adjusting the frequency feedback gain when a voltage flicker is detected, and presented the results of verifying the effectiveness through simulation.

Presentation title:
A study on the relationship between voltage flicker phenomenon and line impedance between users
Authors: SUZUKI Ryushin, HOSHI Maiki, KAWASAKI Shoji

SUZUKI Ryushin built a detailed model of a PCS and conducted simulations to reproduce the voltage flicker occurrence, and presented the results of analyzing the relationship between the line length and the frequency and amplitude of the voltage flicker components.
