[School of Science and Technology] Professor NOGUCHI Yutaka wins the 17th Japan OLED Forum Outstanding Achievement Award

Jul. 02, 2024

Professor NOGUCHI Yutaka of the Department of Electronics and Bioinformatics, School of Science and Technology received the 17th Japan OLED Forum Outstanding Achievement Award, and its ceremony and a lecture commemorating the award were held at the 38th Meeting of the OLED Forum on June 14, 2024. This award is given to individuals and organizations for outstanding achievements in OLED and related science and technology.

Professor NOGUCHI clarified that a polarization phenomenon called spontaneous orientation polarization occurs in the vapor-deposited films of many OLED materials, demonstrating the importance of polarization in OLED device properties. The pioneering research that clarified the relationship between polarization charge and electro-optical properties captured the essence of OLED using multilayered amorphous vapor-deposited thin films, and was recognized not only for its high academic value but also for its great impact on industry, leading to this Outstanding Achievement Award.
