[School of Science and Technology] Assistant Professor YOKOGAWA Ryo, Semiconductor Nanotechnology Laboratory (Professor OGURA Atsushi), receives the 56th Lecture Encouragement Award from the Japan Society of Applied Physics

Jul. 27, 2024

Assistant Professor YOKOGAWA Ryo of the Semiconductor Nanotechnology Laboratory (led by Professor OGURA Atsushi), Department of Electronics and Bioinformatics, School of Science and Technology, received the 56th Lecture Encouragement Award from the Japan Society of Applied Physics.

The award, with the purpose of honoring young members who have given an outstanding general (oral) lecture in applied physics, is said to be a valuable award that adheres to a strict quota of within 1.5% of all general lectures. Because of its rarity relative to the total number of lectures and the rigorousness of the judging process, the Lecture Encouragement Award has established a status that can be called a gateway for young researchers in applied physics. The award is recognized for its contribution to the development of outstanding young human resources and the advancement of applied physics and related fields in Japan and abroad. The award winners will receive a certificate and a commemorative gift from the President at the next Fall Meeting, and will be given the opportunity to deliver a commemorative lecture.

The title of the award-winning lecture is “Consideration on Asymmetric Broadening of SiGe Raman Spectra” with the authors being Assistant Professor YOKOGAWA Ryo, SUGAWA Sho, MAEDA Yuiha, ARAI Yasutomo, YONENAGA Ichiro, and OGURA Atsushi. The lecture is about the results of joint research by the Meiji University’s Renewable Energy Research Institute, JAXA, and Tohoku University in addition to the School of Science and Technology of Meiji University.
