On December 2 and 3, 2023, the 2023 national conference of the Risk and Insurance Seminar (RIS2023) was held at Fukuoka University and conducted fully in-person for the first time in four years. This was the 20th national conference, with 25 teams from 14 seminars at 12 universities participating in a joint research presentation conference focused on seminars studying risk, insurance, and related areas.
The MNP (Most Notable Presentation) is determined by vote among the participating practitioners on the most memorable presentations from their perspective. Four of the presentations were selected for the MNP, including a report by NAKABAYASHI Seminar Group two (SAKAMOTO Kentaro, HOSODA Yusuke, FUKUDA Yuina ) entitled Proposing Homeowners’ Solitary Death Insurance to Prevent a Solitary Death.
This report proposes the development of homeowners’ solitary death insurance policies that incorporate a solitary death risk score (RDA score) with the aim of taking concrete measures against the social problem of solitary-induced deaths among the elderly and the resulting refusal to move into rental housing.
