HAGIHARA Ai (NAKAMURA Satoshi Laboratory), a first-year doctoral student in the Frontier Media Science Program, Graduate School of Advanced Mathematical Sciences, won the Excellent Presentation Award at the Collaboration and Network Services Research Meeting of the Information Processing Society of Japan, held at the Okinawa Industrial Support Center on Tuesday, January 24, 2025.
This award is given to an outstanding presentation at the research meeting.
The problem with sports reporters is that they are too busy covering stories and do not have enough time to come up with appropriate interviews for the players, either annoying them or asking them questions that anyone could have asked.
Focusing on these issues, Ms. HAGIHARA developed a mechanism to easily annotate points of interest with a smartwatch while watching a match, and verified how the system works in an actual tournament.
In the future, she plans to improve this system and examine whether it can be used in actual interviews.
