YAMAZAKI Issei (first-year master’s student) and GOTO Hirotaka (second-year doctoral student) of the Mathematical Sciences Program, Graduate School of Advanced Mathematical Sciences; OTOGURO Kojiro, Researcher at the Organization for the Strategic Coordination of Research and Intellectual Properties; and Professor NISHIMORI Hiraku received the Excellence Award in the Soccer Division of the FY2025 Sports Data Science Competition organized by the Sports Data Science Section of the Japan Statistical Society.
They conducted the award-winning research in collaboration with Associate Professor SHIRAISHI Masashi of Hiroshima City University and Associate Professor NARIZUKA Takuma of Rissho University.
The title of the awarded study is “Behavioral Principles Governing One-on-One Dribbles Between Attackers and Defenders.”
