Master’s Degree Conferment Ceremony of the Graduate School of Business Administration

On March 26, the 2025 academic year Master’s Degree Conferment Ceremony of the Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) was held at the Global Front on Surugadai Campus, and 27 students, including two Double Master’s Program students from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) who successfully completed the program, received diplomas.

At the ceremony, in which Professor SHARI and Professor Saman, UTM students’ supervisors, also participated, the graduates were presented with their diplomas in person after receiving warm congratulatory remarks from Professor OMATA, Associate Dean of GSBA, and Professor OTSUKI, a Graduate School Committee member. Afterwards, the Dean of the Graduate School’s Award was presented, and congratulatory remarks were made by Professor USHIMARU, Dean of GSBA.

The two UTM students, who visited Japan last July to participate in the short-term acceptance program, seemed to be all the more impressed because they have returned to Japan with their families from Malaysia to attend the ceremony. The families, some of whom were dressed in their ethnic attire, were all very happy to see them graduate.

The Double Master’s Program at GSBA, which was agreed with UTM, one of the leading national technology universities in Malaysia, and celebrated its 15-year anniversary in the 2025 academic year, aims to foster global human resources who have acquired scientific knowledge and can integrate the arts and sciences.

The program has always attracted great attention from students because those who have completed the program will obtain two degrees, a master’s degree in business administration from Meiji University and a master’s degree in engineering business management from UTM, at the same time. Therefore, the number of graduates from the program, whose cumulative number since 2010 currently consists of 37 from Meiji University and 56 from UTM, has also been steadily increasing.
