On January 11th, the "Predeparture Online Meet-Up" event took place on Zoom, bringing together students from Meiji University and those planning to come to Japan as exchange students from overseas partner universities for online interaction. Over 170 students from both sides had registered for this event, indicating a high level of interest.

The entire event was conducted in English. Initially, representatives from the international exchange organization "Campus Mate" provided introductions about student life at Meiji University and campus-related information. Subsequently, participants were divided into breakout rooms, engaging in discussions every five minutes on topics such as self-introductions, "places to visit and experiences to have in Japan," and "recommended destinations and experiences for exchange students." The event concluded with a group photo.

The planning and execution of this event were carried out by the international exchange organization Campus Mate. The host for the event was Akari Nakura (1st-year student in the Faculty of Arts and Letters), who reflected, "It was evident that everyone participating was helpful. We were supported by the warm atmosphere of all the participants." Additionally, Ayane Hirata (2nd-year student in the Faculty of Information and Communication) and Vice Representative mentioned, "This event was primarily organized by first-year students. It was beneficial to receive various opinions during the preparation process from them, and we realized the demand for interactions between students planning to come to Japan and Meiji University students. We aim to continue improving and making future events even better."
