On June 11, the final of the 72nd Japan National Collegiate Baseball Championship was held at Meiji Jingu Stadium in Tokyo, and Meiji University Baseball Club lost to Aoyama Gakuin University, 0-4, to finish in second place.
In this championship, 27 universities that claimed victory in leagues across the country play in the tournament. Meiji University entered the tournament as a representative of the Tokyo Big6 Baseball League. After winning its first game 7-0 in a called game against Nippon Sport Science University, the team beat Sendai University 5-0 and Hakuoh University 6-0, all without allowing a run, to advance to the final, but fell just one step short of the championship.
As award-winning players of this championship, IIMORI Taiji (3rd year in the School of Political Science and Economics) received the Top Hitter Award, and KOJIMA Taiga (2nd year in the School of Political Science and Economics) received the Fighting Spirit Award.
Thank you for all your support for the Baseball Club.
