At the FISU World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, Swimming Club member NAGAO Kanon, a fourth-year student at the School of Business Administration, won bronze in the women's 4 x 200-meter freestyle relay.

In the qualifying round on the morning of July 20, although NAGAO did not compete, the Japanese team finished fifth out of 13 teams. In the final held just after 20:00 on the same day, NAGAO competed as the anchor and took over from the third swimmer in fourth place. NAGAO recorded a time of 1 minute 59.51 seconds, pushing the team up from fourth to third place with her powerful swimming, contributing greatly to their bronze medal win.

Comment from NAGAO Kanon
Head Coach SANO, who graduated from the School of Law in 2007, appointed me as the anchor, and we talked about definitely going for a medal, so I swam with a strong determination to finish in the top three. I think this medal was won by all of us: the members who swam in the qualifiers and finals, the teammates who cheered us a lot, the coaches and the staff members. It was the most enjoyable relay ever!
