[Graduate School of Advanced Mathematical Sciences] YOSHIMOTO Takegi and Professor MIYASHITA Homei receive the Dialogue Presentation Award (General) at WISS2024
Jan. 14, 2025
At the 32nd Workshop on Interactive Systems and Software (WISS2024), which was held at the Naeba Prince Hotel (Niigata Prefecture) from December 11 to 13, 2024, YOSHIMOTO Takegi, a first-year master’s degree student in the Frontier Media Science Program, Graduate School of Advanced Mathematical Sciences, Professor MIYASHITA Homei, and others won the Dialogue Presentation Award (General) for “Opticuisine: An image printing method for optical lens food”. The Dialogue Presentation Award is an award given to an excellent research presentation at a demonstration based on a vote by participants.
This research realized “optical lens food” which exhibits the effect of changing the view depending on the viewpoint by combining the jelly part with the image pattern of the base. By printing image patterns using a transfer sheet made of colored fats and oils, they developed a cooking expression that allows people to eat it as is and enjoy changes in appearance while moving it freely.
This research was carried out in cooperation with élan vital, a molecular gastronomy restaurant. In the demonstration, “optical lens food” was actually provided, and it was well received.
