[Table Tennis Club] TOGAMI Shunsuke gives Japan its first gold medal in men’s doubles in 64 years at the World Table Tennis Championships

TOGAMI Shunsuke (School of Political Science and Economics) of the former members of the Table Tennis Club participated in the World Table Tennis Championships Finals Doha 2025 (men’s doubles) held in Qatar from May 17 to May 25 and won a gold medal.

In the final match, TOGAMI and SHINOZUKA fell behind 2-1, but came back to win the next two games to turn the tables and defeat Taiwanese pair 6-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-6, 11-6, ranked No.11 in the world, to win their first gold medal in 64 years.

MORIZONO Masataka (graduated from the School of Political Science and Economics in 2018), who won the silver medal in men's doubles at the 2017 World Table Tennis Championships, accompanied and supported both players as a coach.
