On November 1, 2023, an international conference, "Public Governance and Social Innovation in the Re-Globalization Context," was held jointly by Meiji's Graduate School of Governance Studies (Public Policy School) and Foreign Trade University (FTU, Vietnam) at FTU's Hanoi campus. This conference was organized as part of the international research collaborations based on Technical Agreement between the Graduate School of Governance Studies and FTU signed in 2019.
Prof. Yuriko Minamoto (Vice President of Meiji University) provided a keynote speech titled "Social Impact and Innovation: Challenges of Business and Social Sectors," followed by presentations by Prof. Hideaki Tanaka and Prof. Harumichi Yuasa from the Graduate School of Governance Studies. Mr. Timothy Borsje (MPP student) and Ms. Thao Nguyen (Ph.D. student from the Graduate School of Global Governance) also presented their research findings. Furthermore, in order to expand the scope our collaborations, Prof. Masahiro Matsuura (Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Governance Studies) also participated in a meeting at FTU the next day.
Approximately fifty mid-career public officials, mainly from Asian countries, are enrolled in the English-track program at Meiji's Graduate School of Governance Studies. The school strives to enhance its English-track program by promoting international educational and research collaborations with universities in other countries.
