28 Northeastern University students participated in Short-term Student Exchange Program at the SPSE from May 21 to June 16, 2025.

The School of Political Science and Economics (SPSE), Meiji University and Northeastern University has had partnership and collaborated to offer short-term student exchange programs to each other since 2008. The program is one of the summer programs at Northeastern University and the SPSE, Meiji University, and Meiji University is one of the most popular destinations among Northeastern University students every year.

During this program, the SPSE offers special lectures by the SPSE faculty members and a field trip to National Diet of Japan. Students of Northeastern University enjoyed the lectures and field trips to have a deeper understanding on Japanese politics, economics, and cultures.

Also, the international students enjoyed events and a two-night excursion to Kiyosato seminar house of Meiji University arranged by “The Supporters”, a student committee of the SPSE promoting international and cultural exchanges. The Supporters were engaged in hosting these events and provided the international students with opportunities to enjoy Japanese traditional games and cultures (e.g. calligraphy and origami) and also to have a better understanding on one another.

The SPSE hopes all students who participated in the program will build on the experiences here at the SPSE and make the most of their student life in the coming semesters.
