[School of Political Science and Economics] 41 international students participated in Meiji SPSE Summer Program 2025 (June 23 - July 11)
Jul. 14, 2025
41 international students from partner universities of the School of Political Science and Economics (SPSE) participated in Meiji SPSE Summer Program from June 23 to July 11, 2025.
The SPSE has student exchange agreements with more than 15 universities around the world and has actively promoted long-term and short-term student exchange programs with the partner universities. Meiji SPSE Summer Program, originally started as a short-term inbound program with a partner university in Thailand back in 2011, now accepts international students of all its partner universities. During the program, the SPSE offers special lectures by its faculty members arranged for the international students participating in the program, cultural exchange activities between the international students and the SPSE students, and field trips.
This year, the program accepts 41 international students from the partner universities in Thailand, Vietnam, Finland, and Australia.
The international students enjoyed the lectures and field trips to The House of Representatives of Japan and Tokyo Stock Exchange to have a deeper understanding on Japanese politics, economics, and cultures.
Also, the international students enjoyed events and a two-night excursion to Yamanaka seminar house of Meiji University arranged by “The Supporters”, a student committee of the SPSE promoting international and cultural exchanges. The Supporters were engaged in hosting these events and provided the international students with opportunities to enjoy Japanese traditional games and cultures (e.g. calligraphy) and also to have a better understanding on one another.
On the final day of the program, international students and The Supporters enjoyed taking commemorative photos and exchanging gifts one another.
The SPSE hopes all students who participated in the program will build on the experiences here at the SPSE and make the most of their student life in the coming semesters.
