An international exchange event was held on April 2 for Japanese Track(JT) and English Track (ET) international students newly enrolled in the School of Global Japanese Studies for the 2024 academic year. This event was planned and organized by senior international students to provide a place for new international students to talk with each other and with their seniors so that they can start their university life smoothly.
A total of 56 people attended the event, including 39 new students, 12 senior international students, and faculty members (Professor KOMORI Kazuko, Associate Professor YANAGISAWA Emi, Assistant Professor HUANG CongCong, etc.). Meijiro, the official character of Meiji University, appeared as a secret guest.
The event included a self-introduction game, a campus adventure, and a Q&A session for seniors. In the self-introduction “Lie/Honesty Game,” participants asked each other questions to find out if the other was telling a lie and deepened the interactions. In the next program, “Campus Adventure,” participants searched for checkpoints on the Nakano campus and took a quiz at each point. All teams bonded to win the competition. In the “Question Time,” new students asked questions to their seniors about anything they wanted to know about university classes and study abroad life.
The exchange event was a valuable opportunity for both new students and seniors. The new students were able to make connections with other international students, and the senior international students took a lot away from the experience of planning and managing the exchange meeting.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the people involved for their cooperation in making this exchange event possible. We would like to continue to enhance our support for international students.
