Professor Kikuchi Masao and his laboratory at the School of Business Administration cooperate in organizing the Asian Association for Public Administration 2023 Tokyo Conference, the largest international conference of public administration studies in the Asian region

On December 16 and 17, the 2023 Tokyo Conference of the Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA), the largest international conference for public administration research in Asia, was held at Meiji University's Surugadai Campus. Professor Kikuchi Masao of the School of Business Administration chaired the organizing committee, and students from the Kikuchi Laboratory helped organize the conference. With the cooperation of the Japan Society for Public Administration and the Sakuradakai Foundation, more than 70 research presentations were made under the conference theme of "Future Role and Shape of Government and Public Governance in the Era of Anthropocene: Call for a New Research Agenda.
AAPA, currently chaired by Professor Jiannan Wu of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, is one of the largest international conferences on public administration in Asia, and this was the first time in four years that the conference was held face-to-face. At the opening ceremony, a video welcome message from President Dairokuno Kosaku was shown to the more than 120 participants from Japan and abroad. Participants from China, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Slovenia took part in the conference.
Students from the School of Business Administration also participated as staff members to support the conference operation, and it was a valuable experience for them to interact with participants from overseas in English. At the closing ceremony, participants applauded in appreciation of all the student staff, and the event was well received and successfully concluded.
