Housing for Exchange Students (School of Business Administration)

Meiji University has a Hall Residance for exchange students - Izumi International House,  Meiji Global Village, Uni E’meal Meidaimae Global House, Komae International House and DK House Tokyo-Shinkoiwa. But, in case where the demand exceeds supply, a lottery will take place to decide which applicants will be provided with rooms.
The University can introduce students who are unable to stay the dormitories to alternative accomodation.

Izumi International House

Izumi International House is owned by Meiji University and was opened in March 2009. Izumi International House is close to the Meidai-mae station of Keio Line, which gives residents good access to Izumi, Surugadai, and Nakano campus.

2. Transportation: About 12-minute walk from Meidaimae Station on the Keio Line, Keio Inokashira Line
3. Rooms: 61 single rooms *61 rooms in total in the residence
4. Access
   
To Izumi Campus: About 10 minutes by walk
    To Surugadai Campus: About 25 minutes by trains
5. Facilities
Izumi International House is divided into nine units (separated by gender), with each unit housing 6-8 students. Each unit has individual dorm rooms for each student and a shared dining area and laundry room. *Kitchen is shared in each unit.
The other interior facilities are as follows.

 ・Interior shared facilities
  Entrance hall: Mailboxes, vending machines, and public telephones, a tea-ceremony room
 ・Facilities in each unit
  Shared facilities within the unit (for use by the 6-8 students living in the unit)
  Dining area: Includes refrigerator, microwave, toaster, rice cooker, TV, cooking supplies (pot, frying pan, 
    knife, cutting board, etc.); laundry area with coin-operated washer
   Each dorm room (one room is assigned to each student in the unit) includes a bed, bedding, desk and chair, curtains,
     air conditioner, modular bath (bathtub and/or shower, toilet), Internet access
Notes:
 - Some dorm rooms may not have a bathtub, but all have a shower and toilet.
 - The units and rooms are not stocked with any other supplies (dishes, toilet paper, towels, detergent, etc.). You can bring these things with you to Japan or purchase them after arrival.
6. Rent 
    a. ¥75,000/month (Rent for 2019 Academic Year. It is subject to change in 2020 academic year.)
Notes:
- Rent includes in-room Internet access (bring your own PC and LAN cable)
- Dorm room utilities (water, electricity, gas charges) are not included in the rental fees for Izumi International House.
- Even if you leave the dorm for a time during an extended break, you will still be charged a rent.
  1. Utility expenses (water, electricity, and gas) are charged at cost according to the facility’s prepaid system.
  2. Use of a laundry machine is at cost (coins must be inserted to operate the machines).
7. Other
  1. Only Meiji University exchange students (or others with special permission from Meiji University) are eligible to live in Izumi International House.
  2. Resident managers stay in the dormitory.
  3. Residents do not have a curfew.
  4. Meiji University decides which units and rooms will be used, and residents may not move to a different room or exchange rooms with other students on their own.
  5. If you are going to stay out overnight, you need to notify the resident manager of your absence in advance.
  6. Meiji University may ask residents to move to a different room during their period of stay, depending on the status of accepting international students of each semester.
  7. Students will not be allowed to move out during their occupancy period.
  8. Visitors are not allowed to stay overnight at the dorm. They can visit the dorm from 8:00AM to 10:00PM.

Meiji Global Village is by owned by a private company named Kyoritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd. It is a dormitory only for students of Meiji University and will open in March 2019. Meiji Global Village is conveniently located in Izumi campus, which gives residents good access to Izumi, Surugadai, and Nakano campus.

3. Rooms: 100 single rooms *216 rooms in total in the residence.(About 116 used for regular students of Meiji University and about 100 for incoming exchange students)

5. Facilities
Students’ resident area of Meiji Global Village is divided into 36 units (separated by gender), with each unit housing 6 students. Each unit has individual dorm rooms and a shared dining area and laundry room. *Kitchen is equipped in the common area at each floor and shared.
The other interior facilities are as follows.
 ・Interior shared facilities
     Entrance hall: Mailboxes, vending machines, play room, study space, resident assistant’s room,
     prayer room, restaurant, living room, communal kitchen, music room, guest room, public bath,
     infirmary, multipurpose lounge, parking area for bicycles, smoking area
 ・Facilities in each unit
    
Shared facilities: Not yet decided
   Each dorm room (one room is assigned to each student in the unit) (Subject to change):  A bed,
     bedding, desk and chair, curtains, air conditioner

 - The rooms are not stocked with any other supplies (dishes, toilet paper, towels, detergent, etc.). 
      You can bring these things with you to Japan or purchase them after arrival.
6. Rent
    a. ¥70,000/month (Rent for 2019 Academic Year. It is subject to change in 2020 academic year.)
Notes:
-
The rent includes an expense of Utility expenses (water, electricity, and gas) and Internet usage.
- Even if you leave the dorm for a time during an extended break, you will still be charged a rent for whole months.
- IP Phone cost are charged at cost.
- Use of a drying machine is at cost (coins must be inserted to operate the machines).
- Meal contract is available as follows  *The prices are subject to change.
 Monthly contract for breakfast and dinner: JPY16,800/month
 Daily contract for breakfast only: JPY378 per time
 Daily contract for dinner only: JPY702 per time
7. Other
  a. Only students (Japanese and incoming exchange students) of Meiji University are eligible to live in Izumi International House. 
  b. Resident managers stay in the dormitory.
  c. Residents have a curfew.
       The dormitory is open from 6:30AM to 1:00AM. The curfew is 1:00AM. If you are going to be late or are going to spend the night outside of the dorm, you need notify the resident manager in advance.
  d. Access to building and rooms occupied by opposite gender is not allowed.
  e. Visitors whom you notified the resident manager in advance are not allowed to access to resident area (a part of first floor and upper than second floor). Their access is limited to a lounge and communal place on the first floor only.
  f. Meiji University decides which units and rooms will be used, and residents may not move to a different room or exchange rooms with other students on their own.
  g. If you are going to stay out overnight, you need to notify the resident manager of your absence in advance.
  h. Meiji University may ask residents to move to a different room during their period of stay, depending on the status of accepting international students of each semester.

Uni E’meal Meidaimae Global House

Uni E’meal Meidaimae Global House has 80 private rooms and common facilities including dining room. Each individual dorm room has an IH cooking stove, refrigerator, and microwave.
The other interior facilities are as follows.

   Delivery box, dining room, cable television, security camera
   ・Exterior shared facilities
     Parking area for bicycles and cars*      *A separate contract is required.
 ・Dorm room Facilities
     Intercom, separated bath and toilet, lighting equipment, IH cooking stove, refrigerator, microwave, mini table, chair, desk&drawer unit, Television racks, closet, bed, bedding, storage space, shoe box, balcony, and internet(cabled wired)

 - The rooms are not stocked with any other supplies (dishes, toilet paper, towels, detergent, etc.). You can bring these things with you to Japan or purchase them after arrival.
6. Rent: 
¥75,000/month (Rent for 2019 Academic Year. It is subject to change in 2020 academic year.)

- Rent includes Internet connection fees.
- Dorm room utilities (water, electricity, and gas charges) are not included in the rent.
- Even if you leave the dorm for a time during an extended break, the rent will still be charged for the whole months.
- Dorm providing breakfast and dinner* to its residents.  *Meal plan is optional.(JPY 12,000/month)
  Not suitable for those who prefer vegetarian menu or anti-allergic menu.

1. Resident is only for students of Meiji University (both Japanese and international students).
2. A resident manager serves in Uni E’meal Meidaimae Global House.
3. Resident do not have a curfew.
4. Meiji University decides which rooms will be used, and residents may not move to a different room or exchange rooms with other students on their own.
5. Meiji University may ask residents to move to a different room during their period of stay, depending on the status of accepting international students of each semester.
6. Students will not be allowed to move out during their occupancy period.
Uni E’meal Meidaimae Global House is not owned by Meiji University, but by a private company, J.S.B. Network CO., LTD. Please note that students need to follow the regulations set by J.S.B. Network CO., LTD.

Komae International House

Komae International House, built in March 2011, is a dorm exclusively for Meiji University students and is managed by a private company called Kyoritsu Maintenance. This dorm houses Japanese students as well as international students attending the university. Located just a two-minute walk away from Komae Station on the Odakyu Line, it offers convenient access to both the Ikuta and Surugadai campuses.

2. Transportation: About a two-minute walk from the north exit of Komae Station on the Odakyu Line
3. Number of Rooms: 120 (35 for use by international students)
4. Access
To Surugadai Campus: About 40 minutes by trains
To Izumi Campus: About 30 minutes by trains
5. Facilities
Komae International House is divided into floors for male students and floors for female students. Only the first floor is intended for use by both men and women, and entering a floor or dorm room of the opposite gender is prohibited.
  ・Interior shared facilities
   Entrance hall: Mailboxes, reception area (dorm manager’s office), guest room, laundry room, courtyard (smoking area), dining hall (lounge)
 ・Exterior shared facilities
   Parking lots for bicycles
 ・Dorm room facilities for individual use
   Bed, bedding, desk and chair, curtains, air conditioner, modular bath (bathtub, shower, toilet), sink,
   IH cooking stove, mini-refrigerator, Internet access, IP phone
Notes:
- The rooms are not stocked with supplies (dishes, toilet paper, towels, detergent, etc.). You can bring these things with you to Japan or purchase them after arrival.
- If you plan to use the Internet, please bring your own LAN cable. (Wireless Internet access is not available.)
- Students will be notified of their IP phone number after they move in. (Fees are charged for phone calls.)

6. Fees
 ¥48,000/month (Rent for 2018 Academic Year. It is subject to change.)
Notes:
 1. The rental fee includes in-room Internet access (bring your own PC and LAN cable). Fees     for electricity and the IP phone used in individual rooms are not included in the rent for Komae International House. If you move in or out in the middle of a month, you will be charged ¥1,600/night × the number of nights you stayed. (These terms and conditions are subject to change, so be sure to check with the International Student Center for the latest information.) Even if you leave the dorm for a time during an extended break, you will still be charged rent.
 2. Electricity is charged at cost. Kyoritsu Maintenance will send you an invoice (money transfer form) for actual expenses in the month after the month of use. Use the form provided to make your payment at a convenience store, etc.
 3. The IP phone is charged at cost. Kyoritsu Maintenance will send you an invoice (money transfer form) for actual expenses in the month after the month of use. Use the form provided to make your payment at a convenience store, etc.
 4. Meal charges are ¥368 for breakfast and ¥683 for dinner (per meal)Kyoritsu Maintenance will send you an invoice (money transfer form) for actual expenses the following month. Use the form provided to make your payment at a convenience store, etc.Notes: -The default dorm contract for exchange students does not include meals.  5. Building maintenance fees: ¥3,000/one-time fee due upon move-in
 6. Clothes dryers are charged at cost (coins must be inserted to operate the machines) 
7. Other
 1. A dorm manager lives in Komae International House.
 2. Komae International House is open from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 midnight. If you are going to be late or are going to spend the night outside of the dorm, please notify the dorm manager in advance.
 3. Outside visitors are generally not allowed on the dorm room floors (second floor and higher). Visits with outside visitors should be conducted in the lounge or the communal spaceon the first floor. If family members want to stay overnight, they should use the guest room. (Advance reservations required; fees apply.) However, the guest room cannot be used during the move-in period.
 4. Meiji University decides which dorm rooms will be used, and residents may not move to a different room or exchange rooms with other students on their own.
 5. Generally speaking, students will not be allowed to move out during their term of study.

DK HOUSE Tokyo・Shinkoiwa

1. Address: 4-4-5 Shinkoiwa, Katsushika-ku, Tokyo 124-0024
2. Transportation: A 8-minute walk from Shinkoiwa Station on the JR Line
3. Rooms: There are 163 dorm rooms in total.
4. Access:
   To Izumi Campus:
About 30 minutes by trains
   To Surugadai Campus:About 20 minutes by train
5. Facilities:
Izumi International House is divided into nine units (separated by gender), with each unit housing 6-8 students. Each unit has individual dorm rooms for each student and a shared dining area and laundry room. The other interior facilities are as follows:

   ・Interior shared facilities
    Living room, Dining room, Kitchen (cooking tools, dishes and microwave oven), TV, PC, conversation room, bathroom, shower room, laundry room, 
    iron, multipurpose room, playroom. 
   Facilities in each dorm
    Bed, Bedding, dest and chair, curtains, air conditionaer, Internet access(cabled wired)*, closet, fridge, garbage box
    *wireless LAN is available at the conversation room and on the 1st floor.
Notes:
- The rooms are not equipped with supplies (towels, detergent, etc) You can bring these things with you to japan or purchase them after arrival.

5. Students will not be allowed to move out during their occupancy period..
6. Families of resident can stay overnight at the dorm, and friends of resident can visit designated area of dorm in designated hours.
