国際日本学部

国際日本学部で開講する「国際日本学実践科目B」（担当：小林准教授）の授業の一環として、海外の大学生と交流する「Online International Exchange, Global Perspectives〜Culture and Education〜」が開催されました。

これは「外から見た日本と異文化の相互理解を深める」ことを目的にオンラインzoom meetingを利用して12月7日に開かれた交流会で、日本と海外の大学生あわせて18人が参加しました。海外からは、タイ、シリア、トルコ、デンマーク、ハンガリー、インド、アラブ首長国連邦の７か国から9人の学生が集まり、「Global Perspectives〜Culture and Education〜」というテーマのもと、それぞれがブレイクアウトルームに分かれてディスカッションを行いました。

Cultureのセッションでは衣・食・住について、日本のものと海外のものを比べながらディスカッションしました。日本の学生は事前に作ったパワーポイントをシェアしながら、写真なども用いて発表しました。海外の学生は、美しい日本の着物文化や、美味しい日本食の話で盛り上がっていました！日本の学生も、トムヤムクンやパッタイなど、日本でも聞き馴染みのある食べ物が多いタイ料理の話や、普段あまり馴染みのないハンガリーの食文化などを聞けて、新たな発見が沢山ありました！また、参加してくれたドバイやタイの学生が日本のアニメに詳しく、「ONE PEACE」や「鬼滅の刃」など好きなアニメの話で盛り上がっていました。
Educationのセッションでは教育費の比較や、私立・公立学校の認識の違い、進学率などについて話しました。特にデンマークでは、国が大学までの教育費を負担してくれるという話があり印象的でした。それぞれのブレイクアウトルームが大いに盛り上がり、ディスカッションを終えるのが惜しいほどでした。

今回の交流会を通して、自分たちでテーマを設定し、同年代の学生からGlobal Perspectivesを得られたことは私たちにとってとても貴重な体験となり、今後の学びに生きる土台となりました。

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of this event, as well as to the university for hosting such an enriching and eye-opening experience. A special thank you goes to Miss Rama for extending the invitation to me. The event was not only entertaining but also incredibly informative. I had the opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures, learning about people's food, clothing, and traditions, as well as gaining insights into their educational systems and ways of thinking. Understanding the concept of happiness from their perspective was truly enlightening. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the similarities between my own culture and those of the people I met from Thailand, Japan, and other countries. Despite being from the Middle East, I found common ground with individuals from diverse backgrounds. In closing, I would like to express my deep appreciation to the university for organizing this event. I sincerely hope that it will be repeated in the future, as it has been an incredibly valuable and wonderful experience.
