International Students’ Voice / 交換留学生の声

Actually, there are many exchange programs for going to various countries. However, Meiji University is the only one but the best choice that offers long-term study but also gaining double degrees from both Thammasat and Meiji University. Moreover, Japan is well known for one of the safest countries in the world but also has nice weather and its riches of cultures.

様々な国への交換プログラムがありましたが、私は明治大学を選びました。長期の留学ができるだけでなく、タマサート大学と明治大学の両方の学位を取得できるからです。さらに、世界で最も安全な国のひとつであり、優れた気候や文化を経験できる点にも魅かれました。

 Kishimoto Tatsuo hall because the hall is so gorgeous but also it holds a lot of party events, allowing local and international students to make friend each other.

岸本辰雄ホールです。このホールはとても美しく、多くのパーティーイベントが開催されます。日本人学生と留学生が交流する機会が多くあります。

Japan has very nice weather, especially during the spring that I can see Sakura from everywhere even my dorm. Moreover, Japan has a lot of tourist places for travelling which makes me feel not bored nor homesick. Some locations are perfectly gorgeous like Kamikochi, Nikko, etc. I can enjoy European landscape, like Japan alps or Kamikochi, while I can still enjoy Japanese landscape like Sakura or even lively places like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Moreover, Japanese foods are also pretty nice.

日本はとても気候が良く、特に春の桜はお気に入りです。至るところで楽しむことができ、寮からも見ることができます。また、観光地も多く、退屈を感じたりホームシックになったりすることもありません。上高地や日光などの場所はとても美しく、ヨーロッパのような風景も楽しめる一方で、桜や新宿・渋谷のような活気ある日本の風景も楽しめます。さらに、日本の食べ物も素晴らしいです。

Even though that while overall, the weather in Japan is so nice for me even in the winter. However, the summer in Tokyo is what something surprises for me because the weather is extremely hot, even hotter than Bangkok during the summer where I’ve experienced before.

全体的に気候はとても良いですが、東京の夏はとても暑くて驚きました。これまで経験したバンコクの夏よりも暑いと感じることがあります。

■Things you particulartly enjoy / 楽しいところ
First of all, the class environment is so relaxed, supportive, much more relaxed, where it provides students to have a balance with their free-time or arubaito.

授業の雰囲気がとてもリラックスしていて、支え合う環境が整っています。自由時間やアルバイトとのバランスが取りやすいです。

■Things challenging for you / 大変なところ
For me is definitely about language barriers, many Japanese people are still unable to speak English, which is the challenge for foreigners. Therefore, it is highly recommended for everyone to learn by at least some of basic Japanese.

一番の課題はやはり言語の壁です。多くの場面で英語や他の言語を使うことができないので外国人にとって挑戦の日々になります。したがって、基本的な日本語を少しでも学ぶことを強くおすすめします。

I pretty aim to work in film industries like filmmaking, etc. Also, I expect to still have my time with Japan even after graduation from Meiji University, as Japan is a very nice place for me.

映画制作など、映画業界で働くことを目指しています。また、卒業後も日本とのつながりを持ち続けたいと思っています。日本は私にとってとても素晴らしい場所です。
 

I’m from Thailand, Thailand is widely known as ‘the land of smiles’. Thai people are well known for their hospitality, friendliness, etc. Bangkok the capital of Thailand is like Japan that you can enjoy lively place or nightlife like Siam or Asok but also can enjoy local landscape like various temples like Wat Arun. In addition, Thai foods are also known as one of the best foods in the world.

私はタイ出身で、タイは「微笑みの国」として広く知られています。タイ人は親しみやすく、ホスピタリティにも定評があります。首都バンコクは、日本のように賑やかな場所（サイアムやアソークなど）もありつつ、ワット・アルンのような寺院などローカルな景観も楽しめます。また、タイ料理は世界でもトップクラスの料理として知られています。

If you’re looking for exchange program or even long-term study program in abroad and still have no idea, Meiji University is a perfect idea that offers both short-term and long-term study. The class environment is very nice and relaxed. Meiji senseis and students are very friendly.

もし、海外での交換プログラムや長期留学を考えているけれどまだ決まっていないなら、明治大学をおすすめします。短期・長期どちらの留学にも対応しています。授業の環境は整っておりリラックスしていますし、先生や学生は皆フレンドリーです。

I thank you everyone for welcoming and caring me well as an international student. Meiji students are pretty nice and friendly to exchange students.
