理工学部情報科学科の飯塚秀明専任教授が、公益社団法人日本オペレーションズ・リサーチ学会2019年秋季研究発表会（東広島芸術文化ホールくらら、授賞式9月12日）に於いて、研究賞を授与されました。また、研究賞受賞講演として、「複雑制約付き凸最適化とその応用ー不動点理論で端緒を開くー」の題目で特別講演を行いました。
日本オペレーションズ・リサーチ学会研究賞は、昭和43年（1968年）に創設された大西記念文献賞、及びそれを継承した文献賞を受け継ぎ、2011年度から設けられた日本オペレーションズ・リサーチ学会で最も歴史のある賞です。次の条件を満たす個人に贈られます。
1. 日本オペレーションズ・リサーチ学会員であること。
2. 独創性と将来性に富み、ORの発展に寄与する研究業績を挙げていること。
授賞対象とする研究業績は過去5年以内のものとし、毎年1名程度を表彰する予定です。
